Vision, Aims & Objectives :
Jhalak, Jhankar, Jalwa is an unveiling of the life style of all the Asians living in
British Colombia the greatest place on the earth. The objective
of the festival is to create awareness about Asian art, food,
heritage, dresses, festivals, life style. This spectacular
multi-generational presentation will connect today's world with
the wonders of 5000 years of civilization, its ancient
traditions and modern influences. Our vision is not only to make
South Asians feel pride of their heritage but to make them proud
partners in Canadian culture. It provides a wonderful
opportunity to established and emerging artists in traditional
and contemporary spheres of music, dance, film, theatre,
literature and poetry, natural health practices, social issues,
cuisine, arts & crafts and much more. This presentation will
give many individuals an opportunity to promote themselves in
various fields, an appreciation by the people & will encourage
them in moving forward. This strong & vibrant presentation
will open doors to all of us to come closer & know each other,
to understand better in this today’s complex & stressful
environment. It will give insight, create awareness & will
remove all those self created barriers by individuals, because
of non reciprocity & relationship. This festival will give a
good cause to think about our neighborhood, to take everybody
along & feel pride about rich neighborhood. It will help us to
create a clean, doubtless & progressive society. It will be a
wonderful opportunity for our children to know about their
ancient culture & how they can better correlate in the present
circumstances. It will breakdown stereotypes & myths about Asian
culture, will paint fresh new images. Our doors are open to
cross cultural collaborations and diverse thinking.
